Here are some scenes from the, yet unfinished, COMEDY feature film "Tahoe" - directed (and partially written) by Chris Weinstein.
A QUICK PLOT OUTLINE: Martin is a down-and-out writer who just got kicked out of his NYC apartment by his girlfriend (cause he's down-and-out). In an attempt to find himself again, he impulsively takes a bus across the country to bond with his childhood friend, "Giggs". Giggs is a high powered industrialist who lives in CA and has a vacation home in Tahoe. Giggs also has no idea this guy from his childhood is coming. Giggs is also NOT a businessman but an international spy doing his last job before retirement - not even his girlfriend, Reese, knows this...but we do...as do all the assassins and counter agents trying to get "the disk".
It's kinda like "The In-Laws" if The In-Laws was made on short ends of 35mm and a bag-ful of cash. The rough cut entered (and placed?) in a couple of festivals under the title "Red Dog, Scooter, Applesauce" (spy code for who knows what)...IMDB listing
COLD OPEN: every spy comedy needs "the caper". Here we get introduced to 'the disk' (2:54)
CHASE SCENE: well, it's a pullover. Upon finding out Giggs' true identity, Marty and his relunctant love interest try to leave town - only to get pulled over by some old friends (3:50)
THE BEGINNING OF THE END: innocents are accused, all stories converge at "The Warehouse" and...is that guy speaking with a Japanese accent? (2:22)
LEATHER PANTS: just when you thought everyone was at the Warehouse....
THE TRAILER: Here is the first trailer ever cut. It needs the "In A World..." voice over |
